1 c Crisco solid
2 1/4 c sugar
eggs
1 1/2 c sour milk
3 c and 4 tbs flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
4 tbl cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350. Cream sugar, crisco, eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with sour milk. Pour into 3 cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
Icing (double to cover whole cake):
1 c sugar
1/2 c butter
1 tbl flour
3 egg yolks
1 large can evaporated milk
2 tsp cocoa
Bring to a boil and cook 3 minutes or until thick. Remove from heat and cool.
Add:
1 tsp vanilla
1 can (4 oz) angel coconut
1/2 c chopped nuts
Ice top and between layers, and if doubled, over outside of cake.
